Thomas Drake started A New Leaf Painting from a genuine passion for the craft and the satisfaction that comes from helping people transform the spaces they live and work in. What began with a love of painting grew into something bigger — a commitment to helping homeowners and businesses create spaces that feel more comfortable, more personal, and more like their own.
Company History
A Lifetime in Painting. A New Leaf in 2010.
1988 · Learning the Trade
Thomas Drake begins painting in Providence, Rhode Island, learning to restore New England Victorian and Colonial homes. Those early years teach him that a lasting finish starts with careful preparation.
Before A New Leaf · Building His First Business
After moving to Jacksonville, Thomas starts T.J. Drake’s Construction, focusing on painting new homes across Northeast Florida. Following the housing market crash, the company closes in 2008.
2010 · Turning Over a New Leaf
Two years later, Thomas establishes A New Leaf Painting, LLC, doing business as A New Leaf Painting Contractors, a fresh start built on years of hands-on experience.
